In the context of a nickel mining museum, the application of metaphorical architecture can strengthen the identity and narrative of mining history through symbolic design elements. One of the strategies used is secondary skin, which is an additional layer on the building that functions not only as an aesthetic element, but also has a role in lighting, ventilation, and building protection. This research explores how secondary skin can represent the character of a nickel mine through textures, materials and patterns that resemble the mining process and geological conditions. Using a case study approach and design analysis, the results show that secondary skin can enhance the metaphorical expression of the building, strengthen the relationship between architecture and mining context, and create a more immersive spatial experience for visitors.

Alfath Hartono, Syahril Idris, Syamsuddin Mustafa Copyright (c) 2025 Alfath Hartono, dkk https://journal.ft.unibos.ac.id/index.php/jas/article/view/833 Tue, 17 Jun 2025 00:00:00 +0800 Penerapan Arsitektur Neo-Vernakular Pada Pusat Pengolahan Kuliner Makanan Tradisional di Kabupaten Enrekang https://journal.ft.unibos.ac.id/index.php/jas/article/view/834
The traditional food culinary processing center in Enrekang Regency was designed with a neo-vernacular architectural concept to preserve local culinary and cultural heritage. Meanwhile, apart from public places, fires often occur, both in rooms and laboratories, the triggers are almost the same due to negligence and not being careful in using flammable tools. For this reason, it is necessary to have a fire detection device with a detection system using an alarm so that if a fire occurs, everyone in the building can know about it through a detection device with an alarm sound as a sign of a fire. To reduce fatalities, it is necessary to have a sprinkler system that can extinguish fires, and can help officers or authorities in the building as quickly as possible. From the problems above, this research will determine how many detectors and sprinklers are needed. This type of research is quantitative research by directly observing the object being studied, then the researcher measures the rooms one by one using a building meter. From the results of calculations by taking samples on the 1st floor, the number of detectors required is 1 smoke detector and 1 heat detector, the number of sprinklers is 9.

Dony Farid Sanjaya, Syamsuddin Mustafa, Lisa Amalia Copyright (c) 2025 Dony Farid S, dkk https://journal.ft.unibos.ac.id/index.php/jas/article/view/839 Tue, 17 Jun 2025 00:00:00 +0800 Penerapan Konsep Pendekatan Arsitektur Biophilik pada Pusat Kebugaran dan Kesehatan di Kota Makassar https://journal.ft.unibos.ac.id/index.php/jas/article/view/840
This article discusses the application of biophilic concepts in fitness and wellness center design, which aims to improve the physical and mental well-being of users.
