Elemen Arsitektural Pada Fasade Pusat Peragaan Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi Kota Makassar Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan

Abstract

Makassar City is the capital city of South Sulawesi Province which is the patron of education in the Eastern Indonesia Region, therefore it is necessary to plan a Science and Technology Demonstration Center Building to support information needs on science and technology and support the central government to disseminate science and technology in accordance with the Minister of Research and Technology Decree No. 193/ The second part of M/KP/IV/2010 emphasizes the existence of building infrastructure and science and technology teaching aids in every region in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze architectural elements in the facade design of the Science and Technology Demonstration Center Building in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, where the ornaments in the building facade design are adopted from Contemporary Architecture. The facade element is the first part that is seen in the visual of the building, the building facade is divided into three main constituent elements, namely the head of the building or roof, the body of the building in the form of walls, doors and windows, and the foot of the building or floor. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a typological approach. The results obtained are in the form of grouping the architectural elements of the facade based on the location, shape and style that are influenced and adopted. An architectural work can actually be enjoyed by humans because it is formed from several main elements. These elements, consciously or not, always accompany the existence of an architectural work. Architectural elements that must always accompany a process and the formation of architectural works include roofs, walls, doors, windows and floors. The results obtained are in the form of grouping the architectural elements of the facade based on the location that has a variety of forms and materials that are influenced by the development of contemporary architectural styles. Among them, grouping elements from various roofs, types of walls, types of doors, types of windows, and types of floors that have been applied to the design of the Makassar Science and Technology Demonstration Center Building.
