This study aims to determine the characteristics of the microlet transportation service system in Makassar City (Makassar Mall - Perumnas Antang Route) and the optimization strategy for microlet transportation using qualitative and quantitative methods. Data collection was carried out through field observation activities, documentation, interviews and questionnaires. The data obtained were then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis based on the targets based on the regulations of the Minister of Transportation No. 98 of 2013 concerning the Urban Transportation Service System. From the variables used, it shows that there are five variables that need to be optimized for the microlet transportation service system
