Currently global warming and limited energy sources are problems that are being faced by all communities. Energy savings can be done by utilizing natural lighting to reduce energy use. Facade design (walls, windows, and roofs), orientation and window area can affect the amount of light that enters. Indonesia is a tropical area that has the availability of sunlight which is an abundant light, especially for the city of Makassar. The Director General of Tourism (1988:13) explains that a resort is a change of residence for someone outside their place of residence with the aim of, among other things, getting a fresh body and soul and a desire to know something. This can also be related to activities such as sports, health, conventions, religion, and other business needs. Resorts have different light requirements according to their activities. The problem with the Resort in the Somba Opu area is that some buildings use artificial and natural lighting, because the light in some rooms does not meet the standards and is uneven. The lighting level is 500lux according to the Minister of Health Decree no 1405 of 2002 with types of indoor activities. By using several stages to obtain the measurement results, it was found that the lighting level in each room did not meet the minimum standard. To meet the level of lighting in all buildings in the resort area according to standards, it is necessary to pay attention to the location, location and orientation of the building, shape, size and orientation of windows (openings).
