Penerapan Sistem Fire Alarm Kebakaran Pada Gedung Laboratorium di Kota Palopo Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan

Fire is a phenomenon that occurs when a material reaches a critical temperature and reacts chemically with oxygen (for example) producing heat, flame, light, smoke, water vapor, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, or other products and effects. Fires can occur anywhere, whether in office buildings, housing or public facilities. Meanwhile, apart from public places, fires often occur, both in rooms and laboratories, the triggers are almost the same due to negligence and not being careful in using flammable tools. For this reason, it is necessary to have a fire detection device with a detection system using an alarm so that if a fire occurs, everyone in the building can know about it through a detection device with an alarm sound as a sign of a fire. To reduce fatalities, it is necessary to have a sprinkler system that can extinguish fires, and can help officers or authorities in the building as quickly as possible. From the problems above, this research will determine how many detectors and sprinklers are needed. This type of research is quantitative research by directly observing the object being studied, then the researcher measures the rooms one by one using a building meter. From the results of calculations by taking samples on the 1st floor, the number of detectors required is 1 smoke detector and 1 heat detector, the number of sprinklers is 9.
