Railway infrastructure progress on Sulawesi Island is marked by the construction of the Makassar - Parepare railway line as the first stage in the Trans - Sulawesi railway mega project. In this case, Makassar City acts as the center of government and economy in South Sulawesi, this city has the largest population with rapid industrial growth. The presence of new, faster and more efficient means of transportation aims to help accelerate the pace of economic growth as well as to respond to the increasing demand for transportation of people and goods. To support the smooth operation of trains in Makassar City, Parangloe Station is planned as a large-class passenger station which is a place for train stops, passengers boarding and goods unloading. In addition, the train station can also function as a center for economic and cultural activities for the surrounding community. Neo-futuristic architecture is a renewal movement that shows idealism for a better future through the use of new things, elements that show local identity are still presented so that they remain relevant as times develop. Neo-futuristic applications in design include artistic and imaginative form processing, precision-based design, use of new materials and construction technologies, iconic design, emphasis on nihilism in space, application of environmentally friendly design and energy efficiency. Through neo-futuristic architecture, it presents an iconic station building design as the identity of the Makassar city as well as being the pride of the people, while still prioritizing the function of the station to meet the operational needs of railways according to the standards applicable in Indonesia.
